Job Title: IBM / RPG Programmer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled RPG Developer who has experience with RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4, and also possesses front-end development experience using Java Grails. This is a unique opportunity to work on both legacy systems and modern web applications, contributing to the company's ongoing success and digital transformation.

RPG Development
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG versions 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Java Grails Development
  • Contribute to front-end development projects using Java Grails, integrating modern web applications with legacy RPG systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between back-end RPG systems and front-end Java Grails applications.
  • Project Participation: Engage in full lifecycle development projects, from initial requirements gathering to deployment and post-implementation support.
  • Code Optimization: Optimize and refactor existing RPG code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for both RPG and Java Grails development efforts.
  • Issue Resolution: Quickly diagnose and resolve issues within both RPG and Java Grails environments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
Requirements
  • RPG Experience: Strong experience in RPG development, specifically with versions 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  • Java Grails Experience: Hands-on experience in front-end development using Java Grails, with a solid understanding of web development principles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in both RPG and Java Grails, with a strong understanding of how to bridge legacy systems with modern technologies.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Any certifications in RPG or Java development would be a plus.
