About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Shawthorpe Recruitment Ltd. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving new business growth and generating new business opportunities through inbound leads and self-generated leads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and drive new business revenue to ensure monthly targets are achieved and exceeded.
  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts with sales revenue in excess of £75k per annum.
  • Manage and organize your own diary and calendar to ensure frequent customer meetings are scheduled.
  • Build and maintain a steady pipeline to ensure a constant flow of opportunities.
  • Confidently overcome potential roadblocks in the sales cycle.
  • Utilize product knowledge to showcase company USPs and range of solutions.
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
  • Successfully utilize CRM system as part of the sales cycle, maintaining accurate opportunity forecasts.
  • Support the wider sales team on commercial opportunities.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in waste management (total waste, hazardous, electrical, clinical, etc.) would be ideal.
  • Managed portfolios in excess of £75k (with the account manager/new business, this is not essential).
  • Proven success in business development.
  • Computer literate with solid experience of MS Office.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple prospects while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Great at building and maintaining relationships.
  • Tenacious, driven, organized, and a self-starter.
