We are seeking a skilled Operations Manager for our Charitable Trust. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to responsible stewardship and will embrace the challenge of engaging Forvis Mazars colleagues in the Trust's initiatives. You will collaborate with our Board to execute our new strategic vision, oversee the redesign of our grant-making program, ensure the charity operates efficiently, and enhance our visibility.

About the Charitable Trust

The Firm's Charitable Trust ("MCT") was established in 1983 as the corporate foundation of Forvis Mazars, which supports charitable endeavors through an annual contribution from the firm's profits. While the Trust has broad charitable objectives, it focuses on specific areas defined in consultation with Forvis Mazars, funding organizations nominated by UK partners and team members.

The Foundation is governed by a dedicated and supportive Board of six Trustees. As we embark on our next chapter, we are eager to welcome our first permanent staff member to lead us forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize the impact of our annual budget of approximately £1 million.
  • Develop and execute our strategic plan along with annual budget and activity plans.
  • Implement our grant-making program, utilizing technology to streamline processes and measure impact effectively.
  • Recruit and onboard charity partners aligned with the Trust's strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and communicate the outcomes of our funding initiatives.
  • Report on progress against objectives and suggest enhancements.
  • Support the Trustee Board, including managing the recruitment and orientation of new Board members and organizing regular Board meetings.
  • Oversee the logistics of Board meetings, including preparation of materials, attendance, and minute-taking.
  • Manage the relationship with our donor, Forvis Mazars, to engage colleagues across the UK.
  • Collaborate with Forvis Mazars' Communications team to elevate the foundation's profile both internally and externally.
  • Ensure responsible daily management of our funds, including maintaining accounting records and overseeing the preparation of annual accounts and audits.
  • Comply with all charity governance standards, regulations, and reporting requirements, liaising with legal advisors as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective policies and processes for the foundation's operations.
  • Work closely with the Forvis Mazars corporate sustainability team.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in grant partnership management with strong connections in the UK charity sector.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and set strategic direction.
  • Experience in charity governance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Charity Commission requirements.
  • Creative and analytical thinking skills to develop, implement, and promote our strategy, assess performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Authenticity and inspiration as an ambassador for the foundation.
  • Experience working in or with a corporate environment, comfortable influencing a diverse range of stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a corporate foundation focused on social mobility, inclusion, poverty alleviation, or education.
  • Financial management expertise to oversee a £1 million budget, including maintaining management accounts and internal financial controls.
  • Experience in selecting and implementing grant management platforms.
