About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor and Risk Advisor to join our Global Audit & Risk team at Royal Mail. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute risk-based internal audits to ensure the effectiveness of our risk management, governance, and internal control processes.
  • Develop and implement pragmatic commercial solutions that balance benefits and costs against associated risks.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships throughout the audit process, including senior managers and executive directors.
  • Prepare and/or assist with the production of reports for the Royal Mail and IDS Audit & Risk Committees.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized CCAB qualification, IIA, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience of internal auditing/risk management, working under professional standards and/or practice.
  • Experience of working within a complex operating environment in a large business, designing and performing data-driven audits, strong risk and control awareness, advanced financial or operational awareness, and analytical and problem-solving awareness.
  • Experience or knowledge of data analytics tools such as ACL/IDEA, and/or a good working knowledge of CAATS.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 2700X, ITIL), project governance frameworks, knowledge of complex enterprise systems, or information security principles.
