About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Plough and Harrow. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for running the kitchen, driving the food culture, and ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and promotions
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a restaurant, gastro pub, or hotel
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize deadlines
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
