Support Students with Specific Learning Difficulties

Randstad Student Support is seeking dedicated professionals to assist students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) at the University of St. Andrews.

This hybrid role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students' academic journeys. Successful candidates must be flexible and able to deliver both in-person and online support sessions, with the ability to travel to the university as needed to meet student needs.

As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide learning support and academic guidance. This includes creating an individual learning plan that has been tailored to the student's needs and encourages them to become an independent learner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop independence in students
  • Build on strengths and learning strategies
  • Create strategies around organisation and time management
  • Create action plans to stay on track with studies
  • Build on research skills - widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
  • Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
  • Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing

While working for Randstad, the needs of individual students should be taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.
