This is a permanent role, subject to funding, within Leeds City Council.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to support the Early Help Hubs in delivering their goals related to reducing the impact of substance use on families. As part of the Early Help Hub Substance Misuse Team, this role will focus on work delivered to support children and young people who are using substances.

The individual will work across the Early Help Hubs, providing expertise in relation to substance use, to improve outcomes for families. They will have a high level of knowledge in relation to substance use treatment, the Think Family Work Family agenda, and safeguarding for children and adults.

The role includes delivering interventions to children and young people whose substance use is impacting on them and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver interventions to children and young people to encourage positive change in behaviors.
  • Work with the Early Help Hub Substance Misuse Team to develop and implement strategies to reduce the impact of substance use on families.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to colleagues on substance use treatment and the Think Family Work Family agenda.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to substance use and safeguarding.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and young people, delivering interventions that encourage positive change in behaviors. The successful candidate should have an excellent understanding of substance use issues and experience in working in a related field.
