Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team as a Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of specific aspects of the vascular lab service, managing and developing the broader service, and supervising and training junior staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of specific aspects of the vascular lab service, in line with the interests and needs of the service.
  • Manage and develop the broader service, including supervising and training junior staff.
  • Independently perform and report the full range of vascular ultrasound examinations, using clinical experience and knowledge to ensure patient flow is optimized.
  • Participate in research, audit, and teaching, and contribute to the development of the vascular lab service.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Accreditation as a Vascular Scientist via The Society of Vascular Scientists or equivalent qualifications.
    • Strong experience of vascular ultrasound scanning and a highly developed specialized knowledge of the full range of non-invasive vascular measurements.
    • Previous NHS experience.
    • Specialized knowledge of vascular anatomy.
  • Desirable:
    • PG Certificate in Vascular Ultrasound.
    • Research training/experience.
    • Leadership and management experience.
    • Experience of training others in Vascular Ultrasound.
