About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Vascular Scientist to join our team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Vascular Lab, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of specific aspects of the unit, working closely with the Lead Clinical Vascular Scientist to achieve service objectives.
  • Supervise and train Clinical Vascular Scientists, trainee CVSs, and other staff members, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Independently perform and report a full range of vascular ultrasound examinations, utilizing clinical experience and knowledge to optimize patient flow and ensure Good Scientific Practice.
  • Participate in research, audit, and teaching activities, contributing to the advancement of vascular science and the development of our service.
  • Collaborate with the Vascular Specialist Nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, and Vascular Lab Administrator to ensure seamless service delivery and patient care.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Accreditation as a Vascular Scientist via The Society of Vascular Scientists or equivalent qualifications.
    • Strong experience of vascular ultrasound scanning and a highly developed specialized knowledge of the full range of non-invasive vascular measurements.
    • Previous NHS experience.
    • Specialized knowledge of vascular anatomy.
  • Desirable:
    • PG Certificate in Vascular Ultrasound.
    • Research training/experience.
    • Leadership and management experience.
    • Experience of training others in Vascular Ultrasound.
