Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fire Investigator to join our team, based in Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading complex fire investigations, providing expert witness testimony, and delivering high-quality technical reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and detailed fire investigations, documenting and collecting evidence, and interviewing witnesses
  • Act as lead investigator in the investigation of the origin, cause, and development of complex cases
  • Liaise with experts representing other interested parties, including insurance companies and legal teams
  • Produce consistently high-quality, detailed, and accurate technical reports, utilizing our case management system to record all case-related activity
  • Provide expert witness evidence, when required, in courts and other legal proceedings
  • Maintain technical knowledge and skills through continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices
  • Represent Jensen Hughes at meetings and conferences, promoting the company's expertise and services
  • Undertake the mentoring of investigators in development, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the highest level of technical excellence

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates will have relevant experience and/or qualifications in fire investigation, fire engineering, forensic science, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to apply scientific approaches to forensic examination
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently, with frequent travel required across the UK and Ireland, and some overseas travel possible
