Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Engineer to join our Structures and Fire Team in Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and supervising projects, preparing technical reports, and attending client meetings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and supervise projects to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate project findings and recommendations
  • Attend client meetings and provide expert advice on fire safety and risk management
  • Manage financial budgets and resources to ensure project delivery within time and budget constraints
  • Adhere to RPS's quality assurance procedures and maintain professional competence through ongoing training and development
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop business opportunities and support the growth of the team

Requirements

  • MSc in Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Sound knowledge of UK and Republic of Ireland design codes and regulations
  • Ability to work with diverse clients and stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their needs
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a fire engineering consultancy
  • Experience in developing fire strategies for complex buildings
  • Experience in computational modeling of fire growth and smoke movement
