Director, Venture Capital Initiatives

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate individual to join our team as the Director of Venture Capital Initiatives at LabCentral Ignite. This role will be responsible for leading the strategy and execution of our programming and fundraising initiatives, with a focus on driving greater innovation in the biotech industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a business model and program strategy to create meaningful and sustainable change in diversity, equity, and inclusion among life sciences investment firms and venture-backed startup companies.
- Launch and manage new programs, resources, tools, and materials for our programming initiatives.
- Drive fundraising outreach for our initiatives and manage partnerships with program sponsors.
- Build and maintain relationships with thought leaders and key stakeholders from the VC industry.
- Monitor and report on key results relevant to sponsor relations.
- Serve as an innovative thought partner on strategic programming opportunities with our leadership and other opportunities in the ecosystem.
- Collaborate with our team members in Operations, Partnerships, Finance, and program teams where applicable.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in venture capital and portfolio/program management.
- Proven record of success in building and managing relationships with stakeholders and KOLs within the VC industry.
- Experience in non-profit development or business development, with a focus on building long-term partner relationships and partner investors.
- Demonstrated experience in DEIB initiatives.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills.
- Strong internal and external communication skills, with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
