The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for expanding our capabilities to identify and raise new capital, while maintaining existing Limited Partner (LP) relationships. You will manage our fundraising process, working closely with our partners to raise CIC funds. You will also be responsible for managing our Investor Relations process, including written reports, webinars, and global shareholder events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support CIC Fundraising Activities (60%):
    • Prepare marketing materials and pitch decks for CIC fundraising
    • Presentation of CIC funds and co-investment opportunities to potential investors. This will include traveling to meet with domestic and international investors
    • Manage fundraising pipelines and project manage investor due diligence processes
    • Maintain the CRM database to ensure timely and thorough follow-up
    • Prepare materials and analysis to respond to due diligence requests
    • Manage our virtual data rooms
  • Support CIC Investor Reporting (40%):
    • Support CIC's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports
    • Support CIC's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team in the preparation of our annual ESG and Impact reports
    • Manage CIC's online investor reporting portal
    • Prepare presentations for CIC quarterly investor meetings; and other ad hoc related materials as required

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • An interest in venture capital. CIC invests in businesses from the DeepTech and Life Sciences sectors. Part of the attraction of this role is working with dynamic and impactful businesses and entrepreneurs from these sectors. However, no technical background in CIC's investment sectors is required
  • Prior experience in fundraising and/or investor relations in private markets, such as venture capital, private equity, and other alternative investment products. Existing relationships with potential LPs is an advantage, but not an absolute requirement
  • Experience coordinating transactions involving multiple participants and their outside legal counsel and controlling document versions via a data room
  • Experience preparing financial reports. You should have a technical or financial undergraduate degree and an MBA or equivalent work experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to describe sophisticated business, financial, and technical concepts to audiences ranging from domain experts to generalists
  • Excellent written communication skills and a keen eye for details. You will work with CIC's marketing team and external design teams to prepare investor communications
  • A commitment to excellence, take pride in producing high-quality work with attention to detail. This is an externally facing role, where you will be an ambassador for CIC
