Transformative Leadership Opportunity

The University of Cambridge seeks a visionary leader to spearhead its ambitious fundraising campaign, driving complex £10m+ gifts and securing a transformational impact through 9-figure (£100m+) donations.

As the preeminent higher education advancement office in Europe, we are embarking on a historic fundraising journey, aiming to attract and engage high-net-worth philanthropists globally. Your leadership will be instrumental in co-creating a comprehensive fundraising strategy that drives innovative approaches and resonates with our diverse alumni and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, you will lead a team of 13 and work creatively to ensure that we continue to lead the sector in innovative fundraising approaches. Your expertise in principal gift fundraising, particularly in securing significant donations of £10m+, will be crucial in driving our fundraising efforts.

Candidates will have extensive experience in leading and inspiring high-performing fundraising teams, generating at least £50m annually. We are looking for an individual with strong relationship-building skills with senior leaders and academics, who can create lasting change and lead efforts that have genuine impact on future generations of scholars and researchers.

Cambridge Development & Alumni Relations is partnering with Erin Hall-Westfall and Joanna Logan of Constellate Global Talent on this search. This role is based in central Cambridge, and the successful candidate will be expected to be in the office at least two days a week.

The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society. The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
