Job Title: Deputy Team Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced theatre practitioner to join our team as a Deputy Team Leader in the Gynae and Urology theatres.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background, with a minimum of 3 years' experience at Band 5 in Theatres, and extensive scrub experience in gynae and urology procedures.

As a Deputy Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading by example, demonstrating high levels of clinical competence and expertise, and providing effective leadership to the theatre team.

You will also be responsible for coordinating the equipment needed for each procedure, maintaining specialist surgical equipment, and attending planning meetings related to the gynae and urology.

Main Duties:
  • Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Education and Training.
Person Specification:
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration or ODP with current HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continued educational and professional development.
  • Experience of writing policies and/or protocols.
