About the Role

Our Optometrists are equipped to conduct patient screenings, provide coaching and training, and maintain high departmental standards.
Asda is dedicated to supporting Optometrists through extensive training and skill development. Our robust CPD program and opportunities for further accreditations, funded by Asda, empower Optometrists to adapt to the evolving needs of eye care.
Our in-store, regional, and home office teams offer complete support for both clinical and service-related inquiries.
About You
At Asda, delivering outstanding service is essential for creating memorable customer experiences. Utilizing your clinical expertise and enthusiasm, you will play a vital role in achieving this objective.
Working alongside an Optical Manager, you will help foster an environment that combines clinical excellence with operational efficiency. By supporting coaching, training, and the development of new patient services, you will ensure that customers receive the latest and most accessible care options.
Your Responsibilities:
- Be a fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
- Be a registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
- Hold MECs or WECs accreditation (or be willing to obtain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda, with support from us)
- Be on track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
- Utilize your skills and passion to provide a memorable customer experience
- Be committed to developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
When applying for any Optical positions, it is essential to be registered with the General Optical Council (GOC) for the relevant professional role. Additionally, you will need to provide evidence of your Right To Work in the UK.
As part of the compliance process, we will request proof of being on the NHS performer list for your nation or, in Scotland, the Health Board you wish to work with, along with two clinical references. If applying in Wales, you will need to provide evidence of your WECS accreditation and WGOS module accreditation.
