About the Role

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish a collaborative relationship with our operational team and maintain effective communication with customers on all customs-related matters.
  • Provide accurate documentation checks to ensure compliance with new and existing government regulations.
  • Monitor arrivals and prepare documentation for entry submission, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Submit Import declarations via our advanced customs software, ASM Sequoia.
  • Monitor and respond to HMRC checks, port health, examination, and documentation checks, liaising with relevant government departments to ensure smooth release.
  • Submit post-entry amendments as required and maintain a comprehensive log of team post-entry amendments.
  • Contribute to branch P&L monthly reporting, providing valuable insights and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience in a customs brokerage environment, including entry submission to CDS via ASM or similar customs software providers.
  • Knowledge of the HMRC Tariff for a diverse range of product types.
  • Understanding of various customs procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to arrivals encompassing various transport modes.
  • Experience with port community systems, CNS & Destin8.
  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work with line managers on HMRC ad hoc requirements, procedures, and audits.
  • Intermediate computer literacy and knowledge of software, such as Word, Excel.
