The Role: Customs Freight Forwarder

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Customs Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic team at Stanford-le-Hope. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of import shipments, adhering to all relevant customs regulations and procedures.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage and oversee shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with customer agreements and established policies.
  • Conduct thorough tariff classification for customs duties, agricultural levies, VAT, and other applicable charges.
  • Proactively identify and address any irregularities or issues related to processes, procedures, work instructions, and systems.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding import and export restrictions, potential delays, or unforeseen charges.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, customers, suppliers, government agencies, and other relevant parties.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the customs brokerage industry.
  • Strong understanding of UK Customs regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
