Job Summary

The Senior Clinical Lead will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of interventions within the Thrive Model, as indicated by SET CAMHS and NICE guidance. This will involve working closely with the Clinical Lead and Team Manager to deliver psychological support across the service.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment, treatment, and outcome measurement, as well as providing clinical supervision to staff and developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families. They will also have experience of supervising and managing others, although support and training can be provided for the right candidate.

About the Role

The SET MID CAMHS team covers the Mid area of Essex, with an administrative base in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working with complex mental health presentations in children and young people, requiring skilled and complex interventions. They will also have a keen interest in developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families, including those with neurodevelopmental diagnoses and co-morbidity.

Requirements
  • Successful completion of a post-graduate training in psychological practice (psychologist, or family therapist)
  • Eligibility for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, ACP, AFT, NMC)
  • Extensive experience of working with complex mental health presentations in children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions
  • Extensive experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people in crisis with complex mental health problems
  • High levels of knowledge in theory and practice of short and long-term interventions in CAMHS
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management for complex and unusual or unexpected presentations
What We Offer

NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health, and wellbeing, and key processes.
