About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Officer to join our International Trade Team within the EU, Trade and the Union Directorate. As a Policy Officer, you will play a crucial role in protecting and promoting our health and care interests within the UK's trade agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the trade policy team in developing DHSC's approach on trade policy
  • Work across government to ensure that our interests are reflected in the UK's wider approach to trade
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes
  • Conduct research and provide updates on trade policy issues
  • Support workstreams that the International Trade team delivers, including addressing market access barriers and developing DHSC's wider trade strategy
What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of trade policy and its implications for healthcare
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
