Role: Communication Rehabilitation Specialist

Location: Liverpool

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Implementing a neurobehavioral approach to brain injury, utilizing current research and best practices in the field.
  • Managing and prioritizing a caseload of individuals with complex mental and physical health needs, as well as challenging behaviors.
  • Employing evidence-based practices and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic interventions.
  • Conducting thorough assessments that consider the environment, context, and future aspirations of individuals to establish suitable rehabilitation goals, care plans, and therapy programs.
  • Facilitating effective communication to engage individuals in their assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
  • Collaborating with individuals, families, and stakeholders while respecting confidentiality and seeking consent for information sharing.
  • Providing insights into individuals' communication abilities and support requirements.
  • Performing swallowing assessments and offering recommendations, care plans, and training for staff on managing dysphagia safely.
