About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Janitorial Services Coordinator to join our team at BAM Construct & Ventures UK. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional janitorial services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lock and unlock school buildings and areas
  • Use a mobile app to report and log tasks as per help desk protocols
  • Hold keys for multiple sites
  • Conduct weekly and monthly contractual and statutory checks
  • Participate in an on-call rota
  • Perform regular security checks and identify security risks
  • Monitor fire safety equipment and assist with fire drills
  • Operate and respond to alarm systems
  • Liaise with contractors
  • Provide emergency access to school sites

Maintenance Responsibilities:

  • Undertake minor repairs, such as plumbing, changing lamps, and unblocking drains
  • Organize and carry out maintenance duties to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of premises
  • Organize and carry out minor decoration and improvement works
  • Monitor M&E systems and report any issues
  • Participate in a preventative planned maintenance program
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify repair and maintenance requirements
  • Identify defects and record repair and maintenance requirements
  • Undertake emergency cleaning tasks
  • Undertake cleaning duties, such as graffiti removal and litter picking
  • Monitor the performance of contractors and carry out inductions
  • Assist with safety audits and contribute to risk assessment activity

Requirements:

  • Janitorial or site-keeping experience in a similar environment
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills, with GCSE Maths and English
  • A good working knowledge of IT
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
