About the Role:

Job Summary:

Liberty Speciality Steels is seeking a highly skilled Energy Optimisation Manager to lead and coordinate the energy department. In this role, you will provide technical advice and support to enhance energy efficiency and identify cost-effective opportunities to reduce energy consumption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Manage the Energy Efficiency Team: Oversee the activities of the Energy Efficiency Team, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration to achieve energy reduction goals.
  • Develop and Maintain Metering and Monitoring Systems: Design, implement, and maintain metering and monitoring systems to track energy consumption and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure ESOS and SECR Compliance: Manage the company's compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) regulations.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Offer expert technical advice and support to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Coach and Develop Team Members: Mentor and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Support Business Units: Collaborate with business units to identify and implement energy-efficient solutions, reducing energy consumption and costs.
  • Liaise with Procurement and Energy Suppliers: Work with procurement and energy suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure the best possible energy prices.
  • Contribute to Best Practices: Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to promote best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Develop and Maintain UK Emission Trading Scheme Procedures: Establish and maintain procedures for the UK Emission Trading Scheme to ensure compliance and minimize costs.
Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2:1 Degree in Electrical Engineering or Relevant Discipline: Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, with a minimum 2:1 classification.
  • Over Five Years of Experience in Energy and Process Emission Related Activities: Possess over five years of experience in energy and process emission related activities, with a strong understanding of operational and engineering constraints.
  • Professional Qualifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer): Hold professional qualifications, such as Chartered Engineer, or be working towards them.
  • Excellent Communication, Team, and Project Management Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication, team, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
