About the Role

We are seeking two passionate and dedicated Recovery Coordinators to join our County Durham Drug and Alcohol Services team. In this role, you will play a vital part in guiding individuals on their journey to recovery from opiate and crack cocaine addiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized care and support to a caseload of service users, empowering them to take control of their lives.
  • Collaborate with individuals to develop and implement comprehensive recovery plans tailored to their unique needs and goals.
  • Facilitate progress through structured treatment programs, guiding individuals towards self-sustained recovery.
  • Work diligently to minimize the negative impact of substance misuse on both individuals and the wider community.
  • Assist service users in navigating detox processes, both within the community and in inpatient settings, as well as rehabilitation centers.
  • Foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including clinical partners and colleagues across various sectors, to ensure holistic support for individuals.
Qualifications and Skills:

While prior experience in substance misuse recovery is beneficial, it is not essential. We offer comprehensive training programs to equip our team members with the necessary knowledge and skills. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A genuine commitment to supporting individuals on their path to recovery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with service users, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to effectively manage a caseload and prioritize tasks.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, understanding the complexities of addiction and recovery.
