Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Water Safety Team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, ensuring that the hospital environment remains safe for patients, visitors, and staff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing and receiving essential information to coordinate various services and systems, including the help line.

You will assist the Ventilation and Water Services Estates Team as needed to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) with minimal supervision.

- Support investigations related to water safety and ensure that necessary remedial actions are completed within specified timeframes.

- Conduct relevant tests and checks, escalating any non-conformities to management as required.

Language Skills

The ability to communicate in Welsh is preferred for this position; however, applications from English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Familiarity with water systems and tools, acquired through training, induction, or relevant qualifications.
  • A good standard of education, such as GCSE or equivalent, or appropriate work experience.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of plumbing systems.

Experience

Essential

  • Proficiency in IT applications, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable

  • Experience working in a hospital environment.
  • Experience in conducting PPM checks and following up on actions.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong customer care awareness.
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a team.
  • Capability to assist in water safety risk assessments, audits, and action plan development.
