The University of Bristol is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Safety Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the University's services and infrastructure are safe, legally compliant, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities- Statutory Compliance Management: Organize and manage compliance contractor services and planned preventive maintenance visits across all University campuses to maintain statutory compliance obligations.
- Compliance Data Analysis: Collect and analyze statutory compliance service test certifications to record within the compliance database and review potential failures to be addressed to maintain compliance.
- Audit and Quality Control: Conduct audits of compliance works by contractors and staff, reporting back to the relevant manager to establish performance and quality.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with facilities management across all campuses to update them on contractor schedules and potential failures across the estate they are responsible for.
- Remedial Works Management: Review proposed remedial works and review costs and risk of non-conformity and provide technical feedback to the Compliance and Contracts Manager.
- Site Management: Manage compliance contractors onsite when internal organization is required to carry out statutory compliance on a complex site.
- Fire Safety Systems Advice: Provide fire and life safety systems advice to stakeholders across the University.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a keen interest in compliance management with a proven track record working with Fire and Life Safety systems, including management of statutory tasks and remedial works.
You will be a well-motivated person who is keen to expand your knowledge of compliance management across a complex and diverse estate. Continuous improvement is important at the University of Bristol, so you will be confident in suggesting potential changes and improvements to our systems and working methods.
