Marine Systems Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems & Software Engineer to join our growing marine engineering department at MJR Power & Automation. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in designing marine and offshore/subsea equipment or a strong ambition to do so. Additionally, experience in hands-on commissioning, including successful system handovers to clients, is highly valued.

  • Preparing project documentation including basis of design, detailed functional design specification, FAT, SIT and SAT procedures.
  • Creating design concepts and producing detailed designs from them including (but not limited to) full lifecycle software design, I/O lists, alarms lists, design reports, cause & effect matrices & FMECA.
  • Start up, commissioning, factory acceptance testing, and where necessary site commissioning, site integration and site acceptance testing.
  • Production of final project close out documentation package including drawing updates, O&M manuals, spare parts lists.
  • With the international nature of our work, you will be expected to travel for short durations both in the UK and worldwide to support commissioning, site integration, site acceptance and after sales service activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Marine Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or a related Electrical discipline.
  • A full clean driving licence is mandatory.
  • BOSIET training provided for offshore assignments.
  • Must be prepared to travel internationally at short notice.
