Senior Geotechnical Project Leader,

Full-Time Opportunity

Location: London

Salary Range: £62,500 - £75,000 (Negotiable based on expertise)

Role Summary

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Geotechnical Project Leader? Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy, is looking for a Senior Geotechnical Project Leader to enhance their team in London. This role presents an excellent opportunity to guide and motivate project teams, cultivate robust client partnerships, and contribute to innovative projects across diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Guide project teams with ethical and proactive leadership.
    • Support and mentor junior team members, encouraging their professional growth and development.
  • Client Engagement & Business Growth:
    • Act as the company representative to current and prospective clients.
    • Build and maintain client relationships through outstanding project execution.
    • Facilitate client communication to ensure clarity and satisfaction.
  • Project Oversight:
    • Manage all facets of project scheduling and monitoring.
    • Collaborate with the Project Director to develop conceptual designs and design strategies.
    • Conduct geotechnical site assessments and deliver high-quality designs and evaluations.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Implement and comply with Quality Assurance and Health & Safety standards.
    • Select and oversee sub-consultants in coordination with the Commercial Manager.
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Create fee proposals and manage project financials.
    • Negotiate fee adjustments with clients alongside the Project Director.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience:
    • At least 8 years of experience in design and development for building and infrastructure projects.
    • A minimum of 6 years in assessing ground movement and its impact on buildings and infrastructure.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong numerical analysis capabilities, including proficiency in Plaxis, Wallap, Oasys software, and Slope W.
    • Experience in developing fee proposals and managing project billing.
Performance Metrics
  • Project Success & Profitability:
    • Ensure projects adhere to timelines and meet profitability objectives.
    • Maintain high levels of client satisfaction to secure ongoing business.
  • Technical Excellence & Team Development:
    • Promote technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
    • Engage in the development of the UK practice, enhancing culture, processes, and professional growth.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Oversee the implementation of Quality Assurance and Health & Safety protocols.
Authority & Responsibilities
  • Project & Team Management:
    • Assign team members to projects and secure additional resources as needed.
    • Negotiate fees and adjustments (subject to Director approval).
  • Design Approval & Communication:
    • Authorize design documentation and project communications (subject to quality system compliance and Director approval).
