Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site investigations and fieldwork to gather data for tailings storage facility design and stability analysis.
  2. Develop and implement geotechnical investigation strategies to inform design decisions.
  3. Collaborate with project managers and directors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  4. Lead and manage projects, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance project delivery and team performance.
  7. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians to ensure their professional development and growth.
  8. Contribute to business development initiatives, including identifying new business opportunities and developing proposals.

Requirements:

  1. Postgraduate degree in geotechnical engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in tailings engineering, with a strong background in geotechnical investigation and design.
  3. Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  4. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  5. Strong technical knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geotechnical design.
  6. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
  7. Valid driver's license and passport.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  1. Experience with geotechnical software, such as Geostudio and FEM.
  2. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including those related to tailings storage facilities.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines.
