Clinical Academic Lectureships in Cancer Research

The University of Edinburgh, in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and Cancer Research UK, is excited to announce openings for the TRACC Programme. This initiative is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of clinical academic leaders specializing in cancer research. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong academic interest in oncology.
Program Overview:
The TRACC Programme offers a unique opportunity for candidates to engage in a full-time, 3-year Clinical Research Training Fellowship leading to a PhD. The fellowship includes a preparatory phase of up to 12 months, where clinical training (80%) is integrated with dedicated research time (20%). This phase allows candidates to select supervisors and develop their PhD projects under the guidance of experienced TRACC Directors.
The Clinical Research Training Fellowship (CRTF) entails a period dedicated to research, with the possibility of incorporating clinical training as needed, contingent upon the candidate's specialty and agreement with the TRACC leadership team.
Upon completion of the PhD, successful candidates will transition into the role of TRACC Clinical Lecturer, continuing their clinical training while maintaining a commitment to research with 20% protected time for ongoing projects.
Candidate Requirements:
Applicants must possess a UK National Training Number (NTN) or secure a specialty training position with a UK NTN by the specified deadline. Full GMC registration is mandatory. The TRACC programme operates collaboratively between the University of Edinburgh and the University of Glasgow, integrating research efforts across both institutions. Candidates are encouraged to apply through the University of Edinburgh's application system.
