About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Wandsworth, Southwest London.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of patience, empathy, and understanding.

About the School

Our school caters to 60 children of secondary age who have struggled to access mainstream education.

The students have been referred to our site for a variety of reasons, including having an EHCP, being permanently excluded, or having prolonged periods of absence from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 who have struggled to remain in mainstream education
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students who require it
  • Assist with the development of behaviour management strategies to support students with challenging behaviour
