Job Summary

Vox Network Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Conservation Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our nature conservation efforts and overseeing the management of our nature reserves and other wildlife sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and manage a team of Nature Conservation Officers and Nature Conservation Apprentices, including allocating tasks and providing guidance and support.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the management and maintenance of our nature reserves and other wildlife sites.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop, coordinate, and promote our volunteer program, including supervising volunteers and creating new volunteering opportunities.
    • Manage projects to improve the nature reserves and other wildlife sites, ensuring effective resource management and community engagement.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach
    • Represent Vox Network Consultants at events and meetings, making presentations and giving talks to promote our work and engage with the community.
    • Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to promote nature conservation and sustainable living.
  • Policy and Legislation
    • Stay up-to-date with biodiversity policy and legislation, including Biodiversity Action Plans and Biodiversity Net Gain.
    • Advise on the implementation of biodiversity policy and legislation in our nature reserves and other wildlife sites.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of managing nature reserves, parks, or other open spaces.
  • Experience of supervising and managing staff or volunteers to deliver excellent services.
  • Experience of delivering an education/events program and/or managing buildings or internal spaces.
  • Knowledge of biodiversity policy and legislation as it applies to the planning system.

Contract

  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
