Position Overview

*Are you eager to leverage your expertise to assist individuals who depend on specialized mobility devices?

*Do you pride yourself on maintaining professional and courteous communication, always considering the needs and situations of clients?

*Are you skilled in the maintenance and repair of both manual and powered mobility devices, and are you comfortable performing these tasks at clients' residences or other designated locations?

*Do you possess the capability to refurbish returned manual and powered mobility devices?

*Can you provide support to Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Engineers as needed?

We seek a dedicated individual who thrives on educating and guiding clients, caregivers, and professionals regarding the use of manual and powered mobility devices.

You will be responsible for operating the assigned service vehicle safely, ensuring it is in good working order, and reporting any issues to the workshop supervisor.

Additionally, you will be tasked with delivering loan equipment when repairs are necessary at the workshop.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster strong working relationships. You will need to:

  • Plan, prioritize, and organize your workload efficiently.
  • Understand work orders and execute tasks according to specified job requirements.
  • Adapt to various working environments, including clients' homes, educational institutions, and public areas.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ in a relevant field to level 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills at GCSE level.

Experience

Essential

  • Familiarity with mechanical repairs and basic electrical/electronic repairs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in various settings.
  • Proven proficiency with hand tools.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in the workplace.
  • Capacity to respond to changing demands in a developing service.

Desirable

  • Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and service repair.
  • Background in wheelchair repair services.
