Core Responsibilities

Assessment

Strategic Design

• Assist in the formulation of a detailed business case supported by relevant evidence and a strategic framework. The key deliverable is to juxtapose the 'As Is' scenario with a 'Fit for Purpose' solution while aligning with the strategic objectives of the firm, culminating in a series of recommendations and the design of a revised target operating model applicable across departments.

Implementation

• Execute meticulous planning and implementation of the agreed-upon strategy, including the achievement of key objectives such as delivering identified savings to establish a self-sustaining function within the organization. Continuous improvement areas should also be identified to ensure the ongoing evolution of best practices.

Division Establishment and Strategic Overhaul

• Develop and execute a holistic procurement transformation strategy that aligns with the overall business goals of Nelson Scott LLP.

• Lead the formation of a new procurement division from inception, encompassing staffing, processes, and systems.

• Identify avenues for process enhancements, cost efficiencies, and improved effectiveness within the new procurement division.

Process Refinement

• Conduct an in-depth analysis of existing procurement processes to pinpoint bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

• Design and implement streamlined, scalable procurement processes and systems for the new division.

• Ensure that procurement activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations.

Technology Adoption

• Oversee the selection and implementation of procurement technologies and tools (e.g., e-procurement systems, procurement analytics platforms) for the new division.

• Ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems and processes.

Change Leadership

• Formulate and execute change management strategies to facilitate the smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.

• Provide training and support to procurement personnel and other stakeholders.

• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the new procurement division.

Performance Evaluation

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of procurement activities and transformation initiatives.

• Regularly monitor and report on procurement performance, offering insights and recommendations for further enhancement.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, legal) to ensure alignment and support for procurement transformation initiatives.

• Build and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers and external partners.

Risk Mitigation

• Identify and address risks associated with procurement activities and transformation projects.

• Ensure the implementation of strong contract management and supplier performance monitoring processes.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

• Work in conjunction with various departments within Nelson Scott LLP, such as PCM, Legal, and Operations, to ensure procurement activities are aligned with business requirements and comply with internal policies.

Essential Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Procurement with a focus on process enhancement and transformation.

• At least 5 years' experience working with Procurement, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and contract management tools.

• Comprehensive understanding of Procurement Policies and Procedures, with experience in drafting and integrating them within the organization.

• Proven experience in Professional Services/Contracts management, including negotiation of terms.

• A commercial Procurement perspective with the ability to provide commercially focused advice.

• Proficiency in utilizing procurement software and tools, including Service Now, as well as data analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance requirements related to procurement activities.

• Experience in leading transformational business process reengineering and a strong drive for change management.

• Demonstrated change leadership capabilities.

• Advanced communication skills: Ability to effectively engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, present complex information clearly, and write comprehensive policies and reports.
