About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Clinical Mental Health Team within the Referral Management Centre at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage referrals and referral enquiries, ensuring timely and effective communication with service users and referrers.
  • Facilitate referral flow within the service, providing clinical advice and guidance to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Conduct rapid clinical triage for cases requiring urgent care, and initial triage for specialist services, including Early Intervention referrals.
  • Provide point of contact for initial clinical queries, offering advice and guidance to navigate service users to the right care pathway or service.
Requirements
  • Qualification and current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council or equivalent (NMC-registered RMN, graduate level training in mental health related subject, Social Worker, OT).
  • Experience of working as a mental health practitioner with Children, Families and Young people between the ages of 0-25.
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions, diagnoses and clinical risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with complex and sensitive service user information.
