About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Merchandising Manager to join our team at Crew Clothing Head Office. As a key member of our Merchandising function, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth, maximizing profit, and minimizing markdown.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning
    • Develop and implement effective product strategies to maximize sales and profit.
    • Present commercial plans to senior management and ensure alignment with company objectives.
    • Provide regular performance reviews and analysis to inform future product decisions.
    • Review competitor activity and provide insights to inform product strategy.
    • Plan and manage inventory levels to meet sales and profit targets.
    • Determine stock targets and buffer stocks to ensure optimal inventory levels.
    • Plan pricing strategies to maximize margin targets.
    • Provide regular intake planning details to enable operations to plan resources effectively.
  • Trading
    • Ensure accurate stock and sales forecasting to inform trading decisions.
    • Establish critical paths for ordering and inventory management.
    • Develop and implement plans to maximize peak trading periods and protect critical trading times.
    • Plan and execute promotional activity to drive sales and protect inventory levels.
    • Understand and trade the Concessions and Wholesale side of the business.
  • Commercial Awareness
    • Conduct regular store visits to understand customer needs and preferences.
    • Produce business reports and action plans to inform future product decisions.
    • Conduct competitor visits to gather insights and inform product strategy.
    • Understand and prioritize critical dates and deadlines in the planning and trading process.
    • Deliver excellent customer service to drive sales and loyalty.
  • Merchandising Systems
    • Develop a deep understanding of Merchandising systems, including WSSI tool and category planning.
    • Identify and propose improvements to Merchandising systems and processes.
    • Action integrity checks to ensure efficient running of the department.
    • Maximize use of the Allocation System to drive retail sales and profit.
  • Management, Training, and Development
    • Take responsibility for own personal development and foster good working relationships across the business.
    • Review and improve processes and controls to drive best practice.
    • Assist in the development and training of the Merchandising team.
    • Manage the team on a day-to-day basis.
