Job Title: Vineyard Worker

Location: Kent.

Compensation: Annual salary ranging from £24,000 to £27,000, with opportunities for overtime.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time position.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday from 8am to 4:30pm, and Friday from 8am to 3:30pm.

Company Overview:

The vineyard estate is situated in the South East of England and is currently expanding its cropping area in Kent following a record-breaking harvest.

Role Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated individual to become a vital part of our vineyard team in Kent. As a senior member, you will work under the direction of the Vineyard Supervisor, providing guidance and support to fellow team members.

Your Key Duties Will Include:

• Executing tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Management while offering training and assistance to team members.
• Performing essential vineyard tasks such as:
  • Pruning
  • Vine management including leaf trimming, shoot thinning, and yield manipulation
  • Spray applications with proper record-keeping
  • Trellis maintenance and vineyard establishment
  • Ground management including weed control, mowing, and soil cultivation
  • Maintenance of machinery and site
• Supervising agency staff with a professional demeanor.
• Assisting with record-keeping as needed.
• Providing coverage for the Vineyard Supervisor during absences.
• Updating the Vineyard Manager/Viticulturist as required.
• Ensuring adherence to procedures and offering guidance where necessary.
• Reporting any issues affecting vineyard operations to the Supervisor.
• Striving for continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Delivering ongoing training and support to team members across various vineyard sites.
• Undertaking additional responsibilities as requested by management.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A genuine interest in viticulture and vine care.
• A desire to learn about the UK vineyard industry.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Essential attributes include:
  • A confident driver
  • PA1 & PA3 and/or telehandler qualifications (desirable)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Good levels of English literacy and numeracy
  • The ability to follow instructions and work orders
  • A clean and valid driving license with access to a vehicle during the workweek
  • A willingness to supervise and collaborate with agency staff
