Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Regional Recruitment Services. As an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance tasks, responding to plant breakdowns and repairs, and performing installation work on machinery and within the factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  2. Carry out general welding and fabrication work
  3. Operate oxygen/acetylene burning equipment
  4. Conduct bench fitting and forklift/cherry picker/OHC operations
  5. Assist with other general maintenance tasks as required

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed an apprenticeship or have time-served experience in mechanical maintenance. You should also hold a relevant qualification, such as NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in Mechanical Maintenance. Experience in heavy industrial work and familiarity with slitting/decoiling machines would be an advantage.

Working Conditions:

You will be working as part of a 2-man team on a 3-shift rota, with a 40-hour working week. You will be required to work overtime to cover holidays and absences, and may be required to work on weekends and bank holidays. You will also be required to work in a safe and professional manner, reporting to supervisors and completing daily shift reports and other necessary paperwork.
