Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician Medical Consultant to join our team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our geriatric medicine services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Participate in service developments and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research in geriatric medicine.
Requirements:
  • MB ChB/MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRCP or equivalent certification.
  • CCT in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent (CESR or European Community rights) or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview or on the Specialist Register.
  • Extensive training and experience in General Internal Medicine as well as Geriatric Medicine.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary work and service development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • CCT in GIM (General Internal Medicine) or equivalent or within 6 months of receipt of CCT at time of interview) or on the Specialist Register.
  • Evidence of ability to pursue independent research.
  • Specific training in communications skills, teaching, and management.
