About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at HMP The Verne, a category C adult male prison. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to maintain and repair commercial and industrial heating and water systems
  • Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements
  • Contribute to a safe and secure environment for prisoners, employees, and visitors
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team to deliver exceptional service
Requirements
  • Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety requirements
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
  • Relevant qualifications, such as C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating or EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
