The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our team at Millbank Holdings Ltd. As a Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing schedules to incorporate risk, change, resource requirements, and cost in accordance with requirements and standards.

The Role

As a Planning Engineer, you will be accountable to the Operations Manager and responsible for creating plans for the full project lifecycle, including development and design for the Small Module Reactor Programme in the UK. You will also be responsible for providing cost management support to the Framework teams and monitoring, controlling, and forecasting costs during the project lifecycle.

This role can be based at any of our UK Office locations and may require business travel to UK sites/stations. Flexible working arrangements between office and home may be possible.

  • Breadth of experience across the whole project and programme lifecycle, e.g., Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning.
  • Good working knowledge of financial systems.
  • Understanding of the inter-relationship between time, cost, and commercial aspects of the project lifecycle.
  • Proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools, and Earned Value Analysis.
  • Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget.
  • Able to establish robust Work Breakdown and Project Control Structures in terms of project scope, in accordance with Investment Delivery processes, templates, and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of maintaining and controlling project baselines in line with company procedures and guidance.
  • Experienced in integrating 3rd party schedules and data into the overall project plan.
  • Good communication and organisational skills are a must with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focused with a team-centred approach.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of the project lifecycle, including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning. You will also need to have good working knowledge of financial systems and be proficient in the use of estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools, and Earned Value Analysis.

You will need to be able to establish robust Work Breakdown and Project Control Structures in terms of project scope, in accordance with Investment Delivery processes, templates, and Procedures. You will also need to have knowledge of maintaining and controlling project baselines in line with company procedures and guidance.

Good communication and organisational skills are a must, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks and be results-focused with a team-centred approach.
