About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker to join our team at Randstad. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing learning support and academic guidance to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at Universities and/or Colleges in East London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized learning plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Support students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organization and time management
  • Help students to create action plans to stay on track with their studies and build on research skills, including widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
  • Support students to distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references, and build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Requirements
  • Membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
  • Desirable skills include experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths, and punctuality and reliability
