Job Title: Study Skills Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Study Skills Support Worker to join our team at Randstad. As a Study Skills Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) to achieve their academic goals.

About the Role:

This is a specialist role that requires a deep understanding of the needs of students with SpLDs. You will work closely with students to develop individual learning plans that cater to their unique needs and abilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide learning support and academic guidance to students, helping them to build on their strengths and develop strategies to overcome their challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individual learning plans that meet the needs of students with SpLDs
  • Provide learning support and academic guidance to students, including creating strategies for organization, time management, and research skills
  • Support students to develop independence, build on their strengths, and create action plans to stay on track with their studies
  • Work closely with students to identify areas of difficulty and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, parents, and educators
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:

  • British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
  • Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
  • Dyslexia Guild
  • The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
