About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our Finance Business Unit at Boskalis. As a Project Controller, you will play a critical role in linking finance and operations, acting as a financial business partner for the project management team.

Your primary responsibility will be to produce, analyse, and present accurate financial information to support project decision-making. You will work closely with Project Managers and the Head of Business Sector Managers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including budget control, cash flow forecasting, and balance sheet management.

You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations, including tax, payroll, and employment regulations. Additionally, you will be the initial point of contact for project financial queries and will actively communicate with other departments to share lessons learned and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the financial and administrative setup of projects, including budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including budget control reports, cash flow forecasts, and balance sheet positions.
  • Assist in the review and coding of purchase invoices for approval.
  • Monitor and control various postings, journal entries, and ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Identify and report opportunities, risks, and deadlines/contractual obligations.
  • Analyse and report on project financials, including variances from budget and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure project compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations.
  • Be the initial point of contact for project financial queries.
Requirements
  • Relevant financial qualification, such as AAT or CIMA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of taxes, including VAT, CT, and PAYE.
  • Knowledge of CIS is preferable.
  • Right to work in the UK.
