Senior Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia
4 weeks ago
Position Overview
We are looking to appoint a Senior Consultant in Critical Care and Anaesthesia to become a vital member of our innovative and supportive team. This role encompasses a comprehensive anaesthetic job plan, while also welcoming additional specialty interests that align with the Trust's requirements and the candidate's expertise. Our department is recognized for its progressive approach and has made significant contributions to research, with numerous presentations at both national and international conferences.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be involved in an intensive care rota, currently comprising 9 Consultant Intensivists on a 1 in 9 rotation.
Responsibilities in anaesthesia will cover a diverse array of surgical procedures, both elective and emergency. Candidates with subspecialty interests are encouraged to apply, provided these align with the Trust's needs.
We are open to accommodating other CCT holders, including those in Respiratory, Emergency Medicine, and Acute Medicine; interested candidates are invited to reach out for further discussions.
Participation in the out-of-hours on-call rota is a requirement of this position.
The post holder acknowledges the necessity to respond to occasional emergencies and unforeseen situations as requested by the supervising consultant, in consultation with colleagues, both senior and junior. While such duties are agreed upon, it is emphasized that these additional responsibilities should not be a regular expectation.
