Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to join our team at DHL Global Forwarding (UK) Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating customs entries for the shipment of goods, ensuring all documentation is completed to meet timelines and process requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with customers, freight forwarders, hauliers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate customs entries and provide information in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Ensure all customs entries files are completed and maintained, both electronically and in hard copy, for certification and documentation purposes.
  • Manage queries from the Global Service Centre and respond to HMRC and other UK Governmental Departments in terms of declaration responses.
  • Sending and issuing data to the Global Service Centre where applicable.

Requirements

  • Some experience of working in Customs is desirable, with knowledge and experience of customs and excise procedures, invoicing customers, handling documents by importer/exporter to and from overseas.
  • PC literate, good communicator, excellent telephone manner, organised with good administration skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service.

Working Environment

This role is based in Hayes and requires a flexible approach to working hours, with shifts on Tuesday to Saturday.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Customs Operations Manager.
