About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Loungers. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality food production.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement effective kitchen systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve business objectives and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

  • A competitive annual salary up to £34,000.

Requirements
  • Experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager.
  • Excellent chef/kitchen skills, including food prep, hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, and good hygiene practices.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to lead from the front, playing an active role in delivering excellent kitchen and food standards.
  • Extremely driven and relentless in achieving high standards.
  • Familiar with KPIs and making decisions in the absence of the Head Chef.
  • Epic communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport and trust.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice around rota scheduling, sales, and labour forecasts.
  • Demonstrated successful delivery of training and recruitment for kitchen teams.
