Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to join our team at Brakes Food Shop. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of enterprise risks across our UK businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Risk Monitoring and Mitigation: Work closely with our leadership community to ensure that enterprise risks are monitored effectively on a regular basis. Identify and implement mitigations and controls to reduce inherent risks in the risk register to a tolerable 'residual risk' rating.
- Collaboration with Internal Audit: Collaborate with Internal Audit to test controls on a cyclical basis to ensure reliability.
- Risk Ownership and Management: Work with functional risk leads to ensure risks are fully owned and managed throughout our UK businesses and are reviewed and updated at least once per quarter.
- SOX Compliance: Support our SOX key control framework and ensure that these are built into our day-to-day processes and culture, to avoid it being perceived as a 'tick box' exercise.
- Enterprise Risk Management Framework: Proactively support and develop the enterprise risk management framework to keep it relevant and part of the culture throughout our UK businesses through regular training and communications.
- Governance of Risk: Support the governance of risk in monthly working group meetings and in quarterly Exec steerco meetings, including the agenda, attendees, cadence, and format.
You will be an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager, ideally in a large multisite or national organization. Specific experience in broader Enterprise risk management is essential to support with the complexity and ambiguity this role offers. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and able to positively influence senior stakeholders and drive business performance.
