Overview

We are seeking a Junior Cloud Solutions Engineer to become a vital part of our Customer Experience division.

  • You will gain experience in developing and maintaining cloud-based solutions, enhancing workflows with a leading technology stack.
  • Collaborate with vendors and architects to design solution frameworks, and engage in cloud automation and strategic enhancements across various systems while ensuring security compliance.
  • Work within an Agile team, partnering closely with developers, analysts, and subject matter experts to optimize the quality of Tesco Bank's offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on collaborating with a team of system engineers (Junior/Senior and Lead) to automate the construction, upkeep, operation, and support of diverse cloud infrastructure within AWS and beyond, which includes essential services for colleagues and customers.
  • Within your team, create and implement solutions, advocate for, and work together to advance our practice standards and methodologies.
  • With experience, serve as a subject matter expert alongside architecture and product teams.

  • DevOps engineers will collaborate with senior engineers and product owners to tackle daily challenges while also supporting lead and principal engineers in achieving long-term technological objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS (essential), and Azure.
  • Experience with AWS services, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Packer, and Jenkins. Our automation utilizes a combination of Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Python, and Bash, with Jenkins as our pipeline tool.
  • Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD principles.
  • A passion for sharing knowledge and experiences, recognizing that every engineer's journey is unique.
  • Awareness of the challenges associated with supporting software you have developed.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience with Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and ceremonies.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies.
