Position Overview

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer (Back End)

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is £45,954 - £51,060

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 35 hours per week

WORKING ARRANGEMENT: Our approach is hybrid, requiring at least two days per week at one of our office locations.

About the Role

We are seeking a talented, practical, and self-driven software engineering expert with hands-on experience in API design, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies. You will be an integral part of agile teams, demonstrating a solid understanding of engineering principles and patterns to develop effective solutions.

This role is pivotal in shaping the future of banking.

This position is central to our Identity and Authentication platform, where we aim to provide our customers with the highest level of protection against fraud. It is a fascinating and dynamic area of work, and we are building a top-tier engineering team in the North of England to drive this initiative forward.

You will collaborate with leading architects, engineers, and technicians within the Authentication lab, responsible for delivering robust and scalable software solutions from conception to deployment across both public and private cloud environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Software Engineering, particularly with Java
  • Experience in API design and development
  • Familiarity with containerized microservices
  • Understanding of Authentication and Authorization principles
  • Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and performance optimization in cloud environments
  • Solid knowledge of Networking and API Gateways
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and monitoring tools
  • Experience with containers, orchestration, and service mesh
